A Porto Katsiki cruise to enjoy a magnificent beach
If you are in Lefkas for your summer vacations then you should visit Porto Katsiki beach. It’s once in a lifetime experience to swim in these unbelievable turquoise waters !! The whole scenery from above is so stunning which lets you jaw dropped at the first sight !! This beach is really worth the effort to reach it. So this summer instead of driving we decided a Porto Katsiki cruise from Nydri port of Lefkas.
Porto Katsiki Cruise in Turquoise waters !!
Actually we had done it by car many times in the past but this time the whole family wanted to do it again by boat. So we woke up early at 7.30 am, we prepared our handbags with all the necessary staff (frozen water bottles, sandwiches, towels etc) and we left LEFKASEABNB at 8 am to drive to Nydri port. We had paid for a boat with a 30 hp overboard engine 3 days ago. However you should be in Nydri at 8.30 am at the most if you want to find a public parking place. Otherwise you have to find and pay for a private parking area. We wore our life jackets and with 2 full fuel tanks we followed a coast to coast route to Porto Katsiki. After we had left behind us the bays of Mikros Gialos, Syvota and Vasiliki we turned right just under the Cape of Lefkata with its beautiful lighthouse. There was something magic there as the color of the sea turned to turquoise from deep blue. Once upon a time there was the temple of Greek God of light Apollo there instead of the lighthouse.

We found a nice spot for anchorage at the corner of the beach. On the pebble beach we walked up the stairs to the fast food canteens. There we took some beautiful pictures from above. Later on we enjoyed swimming and diving in the turquoise sea so much that we stayed there until late in the evening. In the end we returned back to Nydri at 8 pm. Finally we arrived back to LEFKASEABNB at night. But most of all in our pictures we have treasured these beautiful moments for ever in our life.
