In particular, the British website asked 1386 readers to rate 13 different Greek islands. For example, some of the reviews were about tourist attractions. They included the range, quality and value of the historic buildings, galleries and parks. Also, the number of city tours, walks and museums were included. Furthermore, the questionnaire was about air fares, hotel rates and the number of recommended resorts. Finally, neither the buzzing Mykonos nor the picturesque Santorini got the highest rate! On the contrary, both of them gained the lowest scores and stars!
And the Winner is…….
In the end, the top spot with 4 and 5 stars in all categories was awarded to a less-known Greek island. In particular, some readers described it as an unspoiled island and others praised it for its stunning beaches! A Greek island that offers lovely walks and mountain villages with superb traditional taverns. An island with a lot of peace and quite places and amazing sunset views . Also, there are lovely picturesque accommodations either on the coastal or on the mountainous part of the island. Last but not least, it is an island that anyone can reach by car! Of course, the latter is something that adds more incentive to future visitors. Finally, the winner is….. Lefkada, one of the seven Greek islands in the Ionian sea!
