According to Greek Mythology, Calypso was a beautiful and seductive nymph. She was abandoned on the isolated island of Ogygia (now Othonoi). According to Homer’s Odyssey she seduced Odysseus with her beauty. Finally, she managed to detain him in a cave on her island for seven years. Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom, heard Odysseus’prayers. He wanted to leave the island and continue his journey back home to Ithaca and to his wife Penelope. Athena asked from Zeus to release Odysseus from Calypso. Then Zeus order Hermes to send the message to Calypso. Finally, Calypso after Hermes warned her, set Odysseus free and helped him to set sail to Ithaca. If Calypso seduced Odysseus with her beauty then Lefkada and the Ionian Sea will seduce you too.
